Plaster walls, white oak floors and a single custom sectional in boucle — everything else was chosen to disappear around it.

Linen drapery, dimmable warm-white lighting, and a headboard upholstered in the same wool as the reading chair.

( philosophy )

Every Aldercroft project begins with how a family actually moves through a day — where coffee gets made, where shoes come off, where light lands at 7pm. Style follows that choreography, never the other way round.

We work in a tight material palette per project: one stone, one wood, one metal, one textile family. Fewer decisions made well outlast a hundred decisions made quickly.

a room is finished when nothing in it is asking for attention.

Margaux Sorel, principal designer

The rooms we hand over are meant to be lived in immediately and to age without renovation — furniture you keep for fifteen years, finishes that get better with wear.

( kind words )

Margaux and her team turned a dated 1920s farmhouse into the calmest room in our lives. Nothing feels styled — it just feels right.
They sourced pieces we would never have found ourselves and somehow made a two-bedroom loft feel twice the size. Worth every dollar.
The single-room package on our primary suite paid for itself in how much better we sleep. Precise, patient, no wasted meetings.

( process )
